Frequently Asked Questions
This page answers some of the most common questions about how I work as a Nutrition Advisor, the types of support I offer, and whether nutrition guidance is right for you. If you have a question that isn’t answered here, feel free to get in touch.
What is a Nutrition Advisor?
A Nutrition Advisor provides evidence-based guidance on food, eating habits and lifestyle to support health, energy and performance. I focus on practical, personalised nutrition advice to help people build sustainable habits that fit their life. I do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication.
Who do you work with?
I work with adults (active or not), busy families - looking to streamline their eating patterns, parents of sporty children and women navigating perimenopause. I support people looking to improve energy, fuel training, manage weight, or feel more confident with their nutrition.
Do you offer personalised nutrition plans?
Yes. I offer personalised nutrition guidance based on food diary analysis, lifestyle, preferences, goals and activity levels. This may include meal options, recipes, planning strategies and education to help you apply nutrition in everyday life.
Do you provide meal plans?
Rather than rigid meal plans, I offer flexible meal options (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc) and ideas designed to suit your preferences and lifestyle. The aim is to help you eat well, without feeling restricted or overwhelmed.
Can you help with weight loss, or weight gain?
Yes. I support healthy weight management by focusing on balanced eating, energy requirements, appetite awareness and sustainable habits.
Do you work with children or young athletes?
I support parents in fuelling their children appropriately for growth, sport and activity. All guidance for children is provided through parents or guardians, with a strong focus on balance, energy, development and a healthy relationship with food.
Can you help with sports nutrition and performance?
Yes. I provide nutrition support for training, performance and recovery, including fuelling around exercise, protein intake, hydration and energy needs. This applies to both recreational and competitive athletes.
Why is nutrition important for sports and physcial activity?
Nutrition plays a vital role in supporting training, performance and recovery in sport. The food you eat provides the energy needed to train effectively, supports muscle repair and adaptation, and helps maintain focus, strength and endurance during activity.
Adequate nutrition also supports recovery between sessions, reduces the risk of fatigue and under-fuelling, and helps athletes stay consistent with their training over time. Protein intake supports muscle repair, carbohydrates fuel training and competition, and fats contribute to overall energy balance and health.
Whether you’re training recreationally or competing at a higher level, nutrition helps ensure your body is adequately fuelled to perform, recover and progress, not just on training days, but day to day.
Is nutrition only important for athletes and sports performance?
No! Good nutrition supports everyday performance, not just sport. Whether you’re training for an event, working long shifts, running a business, studying, parenting, or spending hours in a mentally demanding job, your body and brain still need the right fuel.
Nutrition plays a key role in:
concentration and focus
energy levels throughout the day
decision-making and productivity
mood and stress resilience
recovery from both physical and mental demands
Just as athletes fuel their bodies to perform on the pitch or in the gym, people in cognitively demanding roles (from office workers to healthcare professionals), need consistent, balanced nutrition to perform well in daily life. My role is to help you fuel your version of performance, whatever that looks like.
Do you support nutrition through perimenopause?
Yes. I offer nutrition guidance to support energy, appetite changes, body composition, training and overall wellbeing during perimenopause, using evidence-based and realistic approaches.
Can you help me if I am taking GLP-1s?
I can provide nutrition and lifestyle support alongside those using GLP-1s, focusing on balanced eating, adequate protein intake and sustainable habits. Any medication advice should always come from your Doctor.
Do you recommend supplements?
I help clients understand supplements, including when they may be useful and when they’re unnecessary. My approach is food-first, using supplements only where appropriate and evidence-based.
How do sessions work?
Support is offered online, via calls, emails, or Whatsapp (chat/voice messaging - which a lot of clients prefer) written feedback and ongoing communication depending on the service you choose. This makes it flexible and accessible alongside your busy schedule.
What do you charge?
My pricing reflects the level of personalisation, time and support involved, and depends on the type of guidance you’re looking for. I offer a range of services, from one-off food diary reviews to personalised nutrition plans and ongoing support packages, with prices starting from £55, please click here to navigate to my fees page.
